Once a year and only once a year Santa Claus sits down with the media. And as usual, Santa has a lot to say.

In a year with a troubled economy with folks all over suffering from lost jobs, lower income, and higher prices Santa says the odds for a merrier Christmas are better than ever. “Last Christmas was wonderful and it had nothing to do with jobs and money.” Santa said. “I saw more giving by those who had less last year than I ever saw when those same people had more. It means more to give when you have less. That is the great lesson of Christmas. It is not about giving much it is about giving what you can.”

Santa was also very candid about his relationship with Mrs. Claus, the super-sonic speed of this year’s sleigh which reportedly caused his beard to catch fire and even his frustration as a life-long Chicago Cubs fan. (And he has some issues with Michael Jordan, too).
