Site of the Week: Hymns and Carols of Christmas
We’re pleased to announce Hymns and Carols of Christmas as winner of our Site of the Week honors.
Like all great Christmas sites, Hymns and Carols of Christmas began as a real-life, offline endeavor built upon the love of the season. Way back in 1996 Douglas Anderson was performing guitar as part of a bluegrass trio. The group went to play before a group of veterans during the holiday season and Doug was assigned the task of getting a few Christmas carols together to perform. He started a list.
The rest, as they say is history. According to the site, Hymns and Carols of Christmas aims to become the largest collection of hymns and carols of Christmas ever published in the English language. With more than 2749 hymns and carols now classified and archived on the site Hymns and Carols of Christmas is well on their way to meeting their goal!
For Christmas purists, Hymns and Carols of Christmas is a massive celebration of one of the critical elements of Christmas — music. We give it our highest recommendation.
